문화올림픽을 강조하는 평창동계올림픽 기간 중 강릉을 찾는 외국인 선수단과 관광객 여러분께 한국의 문화와 정서를 전달하고자 한국의 독립영화 10편을 특별히 선택하여 소개합니다. 해외영화제 수상작부터 한국의 근현대사를 담은 다큐멘터리까지. 한국의 맛을 느껴볼 수 있는 다양한 작품이 여러분의 선택을 기다리고 있습니다. 

During the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, which also introduces itself as a 'Cultural Olympiad', we proudly introduce 10 very special selections of Korean independent films to deliver the culture and atmosphere of the very core of Korean culture. From prizewinning works, to poetry animations and historical documentaries, there are plenty of choices that will provide a deep understanding of Korean culture

Kim Geumwha born in 1931 gets married at the age of fourteen to escape from being drafted for Military Sexual Slavery. After severely suffering from an illness, she becomes a shaman. Unforturnately she is branded as a secret agent, and persecuted because of superstition. However, she finally gains fame as an unrivaled composite artist.

The works of representative Korean writers including Kim Yoojung, Lee Hyosuk and Hyun Jingun, come back as animations.  You will encounter the lives of three people who had to smile in spite of sadness and who had to live regardless of the hardships they faced in their writings.

The First Story - Film director Taehoon visits Gozo, a small town in japan, to shoot his new movie. Along with assistant director Mijung, he interviews residents about their memories of the town.  The Second Story - Along her travels around Gozo, Hyejung happens to meet Yusuke, a young man. As Yusuke introduces the town to Hyejung, they talk about various things on their way.
